FANCY A CHALLENGE?

Want a life of big things or small things? Try this statement:

"If we believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the only begotten Son of God and that He came into this world and went to the cross of Calvary and died for our sins and rose again in order to justify us and to give us life anew and prepare us for heaven – If you really believe that, there is only one inevitable deduction, namely that He is entitled to the whole of our lives, everything without any limit whatsoever. That means that He must have control not only in the big things, but in the little things also ..."

(D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, 1899 - 1981); Studies in the Sermon on the Mount)

FBC is a little thing as well. Not a big crowd; about 20 to 25 on a Sunday. We meet in a school and we don't have whopping great big programmes. What we do have is a nice “family feel,” sound teaching from the Bible, and helpful pastoral care. Our aim is be a community that adds value to people's lives. That's why we're looking for people wanting to let God run the little things in their lives. Things like serving Christ.

As we said, we are a small church but we have some large aspirations. In fact they're so large there's more we want to do than people and resources to do it with.

  • We'd like to improve our work with children; something beyond Sunday School.

  • We'd like to expand our worship – we have a pianist but other instruments would be most welcome.

  • We're a multicultural church but we'd like to do more with that.

  • We have young families who are doing their best to raise their children and follow Christ. We want to do more to help achieve their goals.

  • In the past, we attempted a church plant in a village; it didn't go anywhere because we didn't have enough personnel.

The thing is, our vision is bigger than our budget BUT THIS ISN’T A JOB OFFER. This is a an invitation to join a unique fellowship in a great community like Luton. We're looking for people who are wanting to serve Christ in the little things as well as the big things. We're wanting people who aren't satisfied with being passengers.

Take a good look at who we are and pray about coming alongside to help. If you've got a heart for God's work and you're happy with our articles of faith (because that's crucial) we'd love to meet you.

Ring or email or come for a visit. God bless. See you soon.
