HOW IS FBC RESPONDING TO THE PANDEMIC?

It is fair to say that nothing is as it was. That is the same for churches. For most of this time, churches have been closed but recently the government has been easing up and in-person worship is slowly returning.

Sadly that doesn’t apply to Fellowship Baptist Church because we rent a school for our meeting. Or we did. At this point, we are unsure when we will return to on-site meetings but in the mean time there are a few ways you can access the ministry of FBC.

Because of this, we are now meeting at Trinity Community Centre, Trinity Road, Luton LU3 1TR. It is a room, not a hall so there are a lot of things that limit us. For one, we can only meet from 12 noon to 1pm on Sundays. For another, we are not able to stay for teas or coffees. Saying that, some things NEVER change. For one, we always try to involve people with prayers, readings, and shared discussion. And of course, we hear teaching from the scriptures. We also do communion. If you’d like to join in, you would be welcome.

And of course, health and hygiene is important. Mask are optional and we sanitise every week. We are doing our best to keep people safe. We even keep Zoom going for those that cannot make a physical appearance.

Another way of accessing ministry is to watch a Facebook Live sermon at 3pm on Sunday afternoons. This is a preaching talk as Pastor Stan speaks. Some of our people find it easier to watch Facebook than use Zoom. Interestingly, we are reaching a much wider audience with this medium. We have people watching from other parts of the world, and even from other religions. It’s easy to find us, just look up Fellowship Baptist Church Luton and look for the video to go live.

Finally, you may want a personal contact. You can message us, do e-mail, FaceTime, Skype, WhatsApp, or Zoom. And the good old fashioned telephone call still works.

God bless you all and like the song says, “We’ll meet again.”
